Martin Gelin is a journalist, public speaker and award-winning author of seven books on politics, foreign affairs, culture and democracy.

He has written for The Guardian, The Washington Post, Bloomberg, The New York Times, New York Magazine, Foreign Policy, Slate and Dagens Nyheter.

He is the author of the forthcoming book Why Soft Power Matters in Hard Times (Wildfire/Hachette, 2027) and the recipient of literary awards from the Swedish Academy, among others.

Born in Sweden, he spent two decades in New York, and now lives in Paris with his family.
